Fixed baffle
The simple and cost-effective retention of floating matter
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Fixed baffles are used to retain floating matter at fixed overflow sills and overflowed flaps or weirs and reduce the discharge of floating matter such as hygiene articles, waste and plastic bags. Fixed baffles are also used to retain floating debris in bodies of water in order to prevent waterlogging.

FUNCTIONAL FEATURES
- The fixed baffle arranged in front of a weir sill holds back the coarse material floating on the surface in the headwater (discharge case)
- Floating materials remain upstream of the discharge facility and do not pollute the receiving water
- The efficiency of the baffle depends on the volume flow and the hydraulic and structural boundary conditions
- Corrosion-resistant design (stainless steel / GRP)
- Attached to the side wall, overflow sill or ceiling depending on location
- The distance to the weir sill, baffle height and immersion depth are adapted to the boundary conditions so that the best possible retention effect is achieved
Details
Baffles and, in particular, their mounting structure should be designed in such a way that there are no opportunities for floating substances to settle or wrap around them. It is therefore advisable to design baffles in the medium area without struts or with flat webs to avoid increased cleaning effort.
